Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful Information to be even more flexible!

How does Online Language Tutoring work?

The students must have access to a computer, tablet, or phone with a high-speed internet connection. During the session, the teacher and student(s) will use Zoom or Skype to hear and see each other. Video is optional, however, not compulsory, if the student is uncomfortable or anxious. We can also use any images, audio, links or worksheets necessary for the lesson. Sometimes we'll watch videos or use certain online tools from websites such as the British Council. It’s very interactive and surprisingly easy!

It is recommended to use a headset during the Online Tutoring hours by the students. It will cut down on background noise and allow both the student and the tutor to hear each other better. Any standard headset with a microphone will work. The usage of webcams and video is highly encouraged!

What is taught on the Online Lessons?

The various services at VK's Language Tutoring include engaging and intriguing English tutoring from Beginners (A0) to Advanced (C2), for any ages and abilities. It also includes Exam preparations, essay writing and preparations for TOEFL, IELTS etc.

When and how can Online Lessons be planned?

They can be scheduled by following this link into our Contacts or by sending a message with the "Ask a Question" chat below.

How does planning an Online Lesson work?

For most students, sessions will be available at the same time each week. We'll discuss this during our initial consultation, and we can also discuss changes to our schedule at any time.

Some students prefer to schedule sessions on an as-needed basis. An online planning system is available to be viewed here for availability timeslots. However, if you don't see any availability, email or text from the Contacts section and you will be contacted shortly.

Is there a free consultation available?

Yes, there is. Book a free 30-minute Introduction Lesson with our Founder and Join the VK's Language Tutoring community by going to Contacts. Get in touch with us if you have more questions or concerns.

What are the prices and available plans?

There are a few plans available for English Online Lessons in the Plan & Pricing section.

1 to 1 - 60 minutes one time a week - £ 25 per lesson

1 to 1 - 60 minutes two times a week - £ 20 per lesson

1 to 1 - 60 minutes three or more times a week - £ 18 per lesson

1 to 2 - 60 minutes one time a week - £ 20 per person per lesson

1 to 2 - 60 minutes two or more times a week - £ 18 per person per lesson

Other services for groups of up to 6 students might be considered for discussion for £ 15 per person per lesson

How does payment work?

The usual payment will happen once a month before the lessons. However, if it is only a 1 to 1 lesson once a week, then it can be paid weekly before the lesson.

As this is a Private Business, an Invoice will be sent to the student or parent/guardian before the lesson with all the payment instructions and bank details.

Is there a cancellation policy?

There is a cancellation policy up to a week before the lesson. The money will be refunded in the next 2-4 working days, depending on the Bank Operations. However, excessive cancellations may be the reason for ending Online Lesson services.

What if I want to reschedule or have to miss the Online Lesson?

If there is a possibility that the lesson could be missed, a student has to warn about it at least 24 hours in advance before the Online Lesson. By doing this, the lesson will be rescheduled to the agreed date and time by both parties.
If a student misses his/her 60-minute lesson without a 24-hour warning or is late by over than 20 minutes, then it will not be refunded, due to the occupied timeslot of the teacher. Unless an appropriate reason is mentioned.

What could be additionally taught on the Online Lessons?

One of secondary services included are proofreading and advice on writing and essays.
